Date July 28, 2012

While the world is using more and more energy every day, there is an increasing amount of pressure for the individual to save as much power as they can. While certain tasks may take a little bit more time to do the energy efficient way, the help to the environment is one that is irreplaceable. Everyone doing just one small extra thing to save energy can really add up over time.

One of the best ways to save large amounts of energy in the home is to install solar panels on the roof. Not only does this tap into the largest energy source that we have available and untapped. It also saves money for the homeowner. In some sunny months, some homeowners that have installed solar panels can often receive a check from their power company.

Another great, easy way for a family to save on a monthly power bill is to install low wattage light bulbs. LED light bulbs often only use 5-20 watts. Look at this in comparison with their normal, incandescent bulb counter part, the homeowner will save about 100 watts an hour, that is significant.

These are just two of the home energy options that create the highest savings. There are endless things that can be done to save energy. Things as simple as remembering to turn the light off upon exit of a room can make all the difference.
